About the EventThe Children’s Policy and Law Initiative of Indiana (CPLI) hosted our first ever Virtual Gala Fundraiser event, Dress to Impress: A No Go Gala for A Cause! The funds from this event will support our work to promote culturally-responsive, trauma-informed practices for children and make changes in laws so that all children have healthy pathways to successfully transition to adulthood. During the Virtual Launch Party, we had several guest speakers, entertainment, and Local Celebrity appearances.

The concept for our No Go Gala was to enlist the help of Local Celebrities, who modeled their “No Go Gala” fashions through photographs and videos. The Local Celebrity who received the most votes was awarded a scholarship in their name that will be provided to an eligible high school student. Virtual attendees were encouraged to donate the money that they would typically have spent on attending an in-person gala. They voted for their favorite Local Celebrity attire through making donations to our cause during the Launch Party. $1 equaled 1 vote, and attendees could vote/donate as many times and as much as they liked! A few of our most dedicated supporters offered the support of their Special Canine Friends. These cute doggies came Dressed to Impress as well!
